About

Hi there! I’m Zhaoqi Lu (JackLu), an aspiring researcher passionate about the intersection of AI and Science. I am a Year 3 Biomedical Engineering PhD student at PolyU (The Hong Kong Polytechnic University), and a joint PhD student at GDIIST, where I work on AI4Science applications.

Before that, I was a Research Assistant at the State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City at the University of Macau, under the guidance of Prof. Leong Hou U. My research there focused on Graph Learning and Data Mining, with a specific emphasis on Graph Transformers.

• 2024.12: Our paper “Tokenphormer: Structure-aware Multi-token Graph Transformer for Node Classification” was accepted by AAAI 2025. Many thanks to Prof. Leong Hou U and the other co-authors.
• 2024.12: Co-authored paper “MIGNN: Exploiting Metric Isomorphism for Graph Neural Networks” was accepted by ICONIP 2024.

Technical Skills

I have hands-on experience with the full research process, from idea to experiments to paper. My programming background ranges from Java web development to Python web scraping and deep learning projects. Work as an AI Intern and as a Teaching Assistant has strengthened these skills further.
